Today I bring you two stories: One before and the other is after New Year 2016 /////// Hoy te propongo dos historias: una pre y una post Año Nuevo 2016.
Before New Year's ////// Pre Año Nuevo (2015):
This year was not he exception. I always do some nail art design that reflects the Christmas' Spirit. I always do my nails on sundays. (Well, it depends on different factors) ///// Este año no fue la excepción. Siempre me hago algún diseño en mis uñas que refleja el espíritu navideño. Ya sabes que los domingos es que me hago las uñas. (si tengo tiempo)
This time, I took different nail enamels. Some were with sparkle, one was red and different types of stones to make a unique design. ////// Esta vez, tomé varios esmaltes con brillito, uno rojo y varias piedras para hacer diseños.
As I was browsing through the internet, saw a design that was super cool but it was with the New Year's motif and I didn't want to have that same theme for the whole week. Plus my feet nails were already red and I wasn't going to be changing the color just for a day. ////// Buscando por internet ví uno que otro diseño chévere pero que se limitaba a despedida de año y no quería llevar puesto en mis uñas 2016 y copas de champagne o algo así para los días siguientes a la despedida de año. Además de que mis uñas de los pies ya tienen un color. No voy a estar cambiando colores ni nada por el estilo.
I said to myself: "You already have the red color, so you can do an abstract tree with green sparkle and put some stones on it to look like they were light bulbs. On the other nails of the hand I could throw some glitter and make it look like confetti falling." And so I did. This was the final look. ////////// Me dije: Ya tienes el rojo, puedes hacer un puedes hacer un árbol abstracto y ponerle piedras encima. En las demás uñas puedes colocar piedritas y brillito para que parezca confeti. Así hice. Y quedaron bellas.
Remember, this is an abstract nail art design inspiration. I like to do that sometimes because it has a story I can tell. They didn't take that much time, and it's an easy and fun way to wear your nails. //// Recuerden que es arte abstracto y no me tomaron tiempo en hacerlas. Es un diseño fácil y sencillo que puedes lucir para alegrar la fiesta.
Post Año Nuevo (2016):
As you all know, here in Puerto Rico, we celebrate the longest Christmas ever in the whole wide world. This year we start it celebrating Three King's Day. I saw some designs on the internet that reflected that motif. So, I proposed to do that same style on my nails. But then I saw another completely different, and easy to do design. ////// Como todos saben, en Puerto Rico se celebran las Navidades más largas en el mundo. Este año comenzamos la festividad con el Día de Reyes. Ví varios diseños en internet que aludían a dicha celebración. Me propuse hacerme unos Reyes Magos en las uñas. Pero entonces, con el pasar de los días, ví un diseño extraño pero sencillo que me encantó. Les cuento...
You all know that black and gold are being used a lot. I had this brilliant idea to color my nails with black enamel and put some gold glitter in them. I used the Wet N Wild black color, Wet N Wild glitter and Milani Nail Lacquer for my idea. //// Ya saben que los colores de esmalte negro y oro se están usando mucho en esta temporada. Pues se me ocurrió pintarme las uñas de negro y colocarle brillito color oro. Abajo están los esmaltes que usé.
So.... What was the design I was about to do? ////// Ajá pero... ¿Qué diseño me propuse hacer?
Well, I thought to fill the ring finger with glitter and make an arrow in the middle finger. To tell you the truth, in my mind, the idea was excellent. I had it all figured out and everything was going to work fine. (Yeah right) When I did my nails it was a disaster. Nothing came out the way it was supposed to. What can I say? At least I tried. I was furious because I do not like to use my nail enamel and then remove it. And to think of all that time spent and resources...No. I was not going to remove it. So I decided to do another thing. /////// Pues pensé llenar la uña del dedo anular con brillo y hacer una flecha en el dedo del medio. Es que yo, bien especial, pensé que con el brillito que tenía en mi casa se verían igual o mejor. No. No fue así. Lo que era un desastre. No sabía ni qué hacer de tan mal que me quedaron. ¿Qué te puedo decir? En ese momento yo me quería incinerar del coraje que me dió. Es que no me gusta gastar esmalte en vano. Eso lo odio. Significa que he desperdiciado tiempo, dinero y recursos en hacer algo que me quedó mal. No. No. No. No. Asi es que en medio del coraje que me dió... se me prendió el bombillo.
I saw the light. And decided to make an angel. I had already done the wings and it was spakling, so why not try it? /////// De momento ví la luz y contemplé la posibilidad de hacer líneas como si fuera el sol saliendo y... tampoco resultó. Cada vez más era peor. Hasta que de momento coloco las uñas lejos de mi vista para contemplar el árbol de Navidad y refrescar mi mente. Ahí sí que me llegó la luz. No me pregunten cómo porque eso fue Dios. De lejos se veía como que me había pintado un ángel. Pero entonces yo veía más brillito y surgieron unas alas.
And how I was going to do the head? Easy, I took a clear stone and put it on top of the arrow I drew with glitter. ////// ¿Cómo hacer la cabeza? Já. Sencillo. Esperé a que secaran lo suficiente como para buscar unas piedras redondas transparentes y... claro que sí. Me las puse en la puntita de la flecha y voila...surgió un ángel. Para el dedo índice, le pasé el brillito varias veces hasta posicionar la escarcha donde yo quería. Mire, sinceramente no me pregunte cómo sucedió y usted tómelo por fe que mi arte es abstracto y ahí se ve un ángel.
I thought of doing the same thing with the wings just to try and make the three kings but I was not in the mood to push for a little more. The pictures are below. //// Les confieso que me surgió la brillante idea de hacer unos reyes magos colocando 2 piedritas más pequeñas encima de las alas del ángel pero me dije: "Sabes que si te queda mal, te las vas a despintar y una semana sin esmalte, o sea, eso no puede ser". Asi es que lo dejé así. Las fotos están al final.
It is very important for me that my nails look great. They are part of my freedom of speech and reflect my personality. There is no way that you will ever find me walking without nail enamel on. No. Absolutely not going to happen ever. NO. /////// I really hope you can see my abstract angel and like it as much as I do. It is an easy to do nail art. And best of all, it's abstract art. Yo es que jamás en la vida me verán caminando sin las uñas pintadas, o parcialmente pintadas o desteñidas. No. NOOOOOOOO. NO. Así es que espero que puedan ver mi arte abstracto y se den cuenta que es un ángel con muuuuucha luz, tanta luz que te deja cegata. Y es un diseño que te puedes hacer.
