Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy

(En.) Recently I was at Walmart watching nail colors. This one caught my eye. It is from Revlon. It caught my attention because it promotes itself as color plus base, it is a long wear nail enamel and has a diamond top coat that goes with it. I bought the nail enamel because I love purple and has glitter. I also bought the Diamond Top Coat #010. The nail enamel is called Showtime #430. I bought it because my birthday is coming up and wanted to wear it. I loved the color the minute I saw it. ////////

 

So last night, since I am always worried about how the nail enamel (specially if it is gel) will look at the end of the day and how in the world will it come off, did some studies. I searched through the internet to see if they had problems putting it on and getting it off. I found out some helpful tips. I was thinking of adding my normal base coat to the nails before applying the new enamel. One blogger said that she loved the nail polish because you put it on and that was it. It had everything mixed up and dried very fast.

 

I was pleased with her review but there is this gut feeling that says: "Keep looking, make sure you did all the possible research in such short time" Well, I did. I found out what I feared. Another blogger colored her nails without the base coat. And guess what? When she removed the Colorstay Gel Envy of her nails, it left her a blue mark on each and every one of her nails. It happened to me once with a Bettina nail enamel. I never wore it again. That should not happen when you put nail enamels on your nails. It is wrong. And to get that color off, you have to wait several weeks for the nail to grow and cut it. It's horrible, I hate it and will never ever wear that Bettina color again.

 

The point here is that with that information in mind, I colored my nails first with the base coat. Waited for it to dry and then added one coat of Showtime. The first blogger was right. It dried pretty fast. I was amazed. She said that Revlon designed it for working women who had no time for waiting the nails to dry. And it was true. It made sense to me. I waited for the first coat to dry and added a second one. The color was so vibrant and pretty. It was really a dark purple. The way I like the color.

 

I thought it was going to be a little smoother on the nails but it's kind of rough. It's not glossy. I applied after it dried the last coat which was the Diamond Top Coat. It dried super fast too. Apparently it is supposed to last 8 days without chipping or loosing color. The two bloggers agreed that it lasted up to 8 days.

 

Even though I love the color, I am not pleased with the outcome. I thought it was going to have a glossy finish but it looks rocky. It's a weird style and I think I kind of like it. It's not bad but I am not accustomed to this final look. Guess I have to try new things so, this is one of them. The nail enamel doesn't feel heavy. It is lightweight and I loved that. You know you did your nails because it has color but if it were not for that, you wouldn't have ever noticed it.

(Es.) Recientemente, mientras compraba en Walmart, miré varios esmaltes. Sólo uno llamó mi atención. El esmalte es de Revlon. Captó mi atención porque dice que incluye el color y base, es duradero y tiene otro esmalte que lo complementa y sella el color de la uña. Compré el esmalte en parte porque amo el color violeta y el brillo. Adicional, adquirí el esmalte que sella la manicura, Diamond Top Coat #010. El esmalte violeta con brillo se llama Showtime #430. Lo compré porque mi cumpleaños está cerca y lo quería usar. Me enamoré perdidamente de ese color desde que lo vi.

 

 

Asi es que anoche, como siempre estoy preocupada sobre cómo lucirá el esmalte (sobretodo si es gel) y si sale con acetona, me dí a la tarea de buscar reseñas. Encontré unas en internet porque necesitaba saber si álguien tuvo problemas para ponerlo y al quitarlo. Encontré unos consejitos chéveres sobre esta marca. Pensé ponerme una base antes de colocarme el esmalte. (más adelante sabrán por qué) Una chica como yo, mencionó en su página que le encantaba el esmalte porque te lo pones y ya. Mencionó que tenía todo integrado y secaba rápido. 

 

Quedé contenta con su escrito pero no satisfecha. Siempre está ese sentimiento que te dice: "Sigue buscando. Busca bien aunque sea en un period de tiempo corto pero busca bien." Así hice. Encontré lo que temía pasara. Otra chica que escribe comentó que se pintó sus uñas sin antes protegerlas con la base. ¿Saben qué le pasó? Pues mire, cuando se quitó con acetona el Colorstay Gel Envy pero en color azul, se le quedó el residuo del esmalte en las uñas. O sea, se le quedó en todas las uñas una marca azul con chinita bien fea y desagradable que solo sale esperando a que la uña crezca y recortándola. A mi me sucedió lo mismo con un esmalte de Bettina azul. Ese esmalte lo odio. Nunca lo usé después de esa. Eso no debería pasar cuando uno usa un esmalte. Esa situación es completamente errónea y dice mucho de un esmalte.

El punto aquí es que tomando en consideración esa información, me coloqué la base en las uñas. Esperé a que secara y le puse la primera capa de Showtime. La primera chica que consulté tenía razón. El esmalte seca demasiado rápido. Quedé sorprendida. Ella mencionó que Revlon diseñó este tipo de esmalte para las chicas que trabajan y no tienen tiempo para estar esperando a que sus uñas se sequen. Me hizo sentido. Eso que dijo la chica es cierto. Esperé a que secara esa primera capa de esmalte y le añadí una segunda. El color es brillante y hermoso. Es un violeta oscuro como me gusta. Ese es mi color favorito.

 

Pensé que quedaría un poco suave la superficie. Ustedes saben que cuando nos pintamos las uñas, la superficie queda lisa y brillosa. Es una manicura perfecta. En este caso, siento la superficie como rocosa. No está brillosa. Finalmente le añadí el  Diamond Top Coat y también secó súper mega rápido. Aparentemente se supone que dure hasta ocho días sin descascararse o perder el color. Ambas chicas comentaron en sus respectivas páginas que les duró esa cantidad de tiempo.

Aunque amo el color, no sé, como que no estoy contenta con el estilo final. Pensé que tendría un estilo brilloso pero se ve rocoso, como mencioné anteriormente. No sé, quizás es un estilo nuevo de esmalte y es extraño porque no estoy acostumbrada a él. ¿Saben qué? Creo que me gusta después de todo porque es tan raro como yo. Gente uno tiene que tratar cosas nuevas y divertidas, esta es una de ellas. El esmalte no se siente fuerte ni pesado. Es súper mega liviano y eso me hace amarlo más. Sabes que te hiciste las uñas porque tienen color pero si no fuera por eso, nunca te hubieras dado cuenta que las tienes pintadas. ¡¡¡¡Hasta aquí llegó mi reseña!!!! Espero te haya gustado. B.
