Jamworks Art Jewelry

(En.) Jamworks Art Jewelry is composed of two wonderful and amazing people (Charlie and Jaye) whom I've grown fond of since the beginning of my journey on Instagram. They are some of the amazing friends and family I have made along the way.

 

Jaye is the fabulous and genious designer/creator behind the most gorgeous and unique pieces of jewelry I've seen so far. Her jewelry is made of dichroic glass. 

*And... What in the World is Dichroic Glass?

 

Well, thankfully, they have a blog and in it they explain it.

"Dichroic means two colors. The dichroic glass has a property where it reflects one color of light and transmits or passes through the opposite color." 

* Why does that happen?

Because "There are no pigments, dies or contaminates used to create the color.  The color is derived based on the same principles as the colors you see in a film of oil floating on water in the parking lot on a rainy day. The colors show because the thickness of the layer of oil floating on the water matches the wavelength of the particular color showing."

When I read all the information they share on their blog, I understood better. Their blog is very educational and interesting. I really hope that you visit it and learn more about the process and components.

I just have to say (well, write) that I never ever thought I was going to be wearing a piece of jewelry that even NASA uses.

"NASA used it as color filters, filters for harmful space radiation, in helmet visors, camera lenses, air and spacecraft windshields, etc… "

What I like best is that dichroic glass, like it has been stated on their website "has the property of displaying a particular transmitted color and a completely different reflected color." 

I can't agree more. When the lights point at the jewelry, day or night, they sparkle and I just love it. If you want to know what exactly do I mean, you will have to buy it from them and find out. 

 

* How do they send their jewelry?

 

Well, through the United States Postal Service. My order arrived in two or three days, I think. All I remember is that I was shocked because it arrived really fast. The package is pink which I loved soooo much. I felt like a princess when I received it because of the way it was wrapped. I love shocking pink. And it was just soooo pretty that I didn't want to open it at first but I had to. It reminded me of Jem And the Hollograms which I used to watch when I was little. It is one of my favorite cartoons in the world.

Jaye es la fabulosa y genial diseñadora de esta joyería tan hermosa y única. Su joyería está hecha de vidrio o cristal dicroico.  

* Y... ¿Qué rayos es un vidrio o cristal dicroico?

 

Para beneficio de todos, en su página ellos describen detalladamente qué material es y cómo surge.

Según ellos "Dicroico significa dos colores. El vidrio o cristal dicroico contiene una propiedad que refleja un color de luz y transmite o pasa un color opuesto." 

* ¿Por qué sucede esto?

Pues porque "No contiene pigmentos, tinte o agentes contaminantes utilizados para crear color. El color se deriva según el mismo principio de los colores que encuentras en una mancha de aceite flotando en el agua de un estacionamiento en un día lluvioso. Los colores se ven por las múltiples capas de aceite que al flotar en agua igualan la misma intensidad de un color particular que se ve en ese instante."

 

Cuando leí toda la información que ellos comparten en su página, entendí mejor la composición del material. Su página es interesante y una sumamente educativa. Sinceramente espero que la visiten y aprendan más sobre este proceso complicado y sus compuestos químicos.

Tengo que confesarles que nunca pensé luciría alguna pieza de joyería que hasta la NASA utiliza. 

"La NASA la utiliza para filtros de colores, para filtrar la radiación espacial que es dañina para el ser humano y los equipos, el lente visor que se encuentra en el casco espacial de los astronautas, lentes de las cámaras, las ventanas en las naves espaciales, etc. … "

Lo que me encanta del vidrio o cristal dicroico es que, como mencionan en su página, "tiene la propiedad de transmitir y enseñar un color particular que a su vez es completamente diferente al color reflejado." 

Estoy completamente de acuerdo con esta cualidad. Cuando la luz señala la pieza, día o noche, brilla y tiene un color de luz tan bonito que se me hace difícil describirlo. Simplemente es fabuloso. Si quieres saber a qué exactamente me refiero, tendrás que adquirir tu pieza de joyería.  

 

* ¿Cómo envían sus piezas de joyería? 

 

Bueno, la envían por el correo postal (USPS) normal. Mi pedido tardó de dos a tres días en llegar. Realmente no recuerdo cuánto tiempo tardó pero sí sé que me sorprendí al ver que llegó tan rápido a mi hogar. El empaque es rosita lo cual me dejó completamente enamorada. Me sentí como una princesa por la manera en que llegó envuelto. Amo el rosa neón. Y estaba tan y tan lindo el empaque que no quise abrirlo pero al final tuve que hacerlo. Me recordó la serie de muñequitos Jem And the Hollograms que cuando era niña me pasaba viendo. Esta serie es una de mis favoritas de mi niñez.

(En.) Inside was another pink package with circles and it was pretty too. It enclosed two presentation cards. I took a picture of both: One with the front side and the other with their complete info on the back. See...prettyyyy!!!!! //////////////////// (Es.) (En.) The glam note is a thank you one. I LOVED IT because it has glitter. I LOOOOOVEEEEEE GLITTER!!!!!!! And their details are fabulous. It really means a lot to me. ////////////// (Es.) (En.) These are the boxes in which I received my amazing and unique jewelry pieces. As you can see one is smaller than the other one. That is because I ordered two lovely pieces with the same color. One is small and the other is long. ////////////// (Es.) En estas cajas recibí mis piezas únicas de joyería. Una es más pequeña que la otra. La razón es que ordené dos piezas que contiene un color similar. Una pieza es pequeña y la otra larga y grande. 

 

 

(En.) This is the smallest pendant (142 Blue and Gold Dichroic Glass Captured in Pure Silver Eye Item #: JWA142). Each pendant comes with the 16" chain. The next one is a long pendant (JWA 182 Icicle of Dichroic Glass Light Shoot Through Pure Silver Setting Item #: JWA182) which includes the 16" chain but I had this amazing idea and they sent me an 18" or 20" chain. I payed for it US $98.00 dollars. /////////// (Es.) La próxima pieza es larga (JWA 182 Icicle of Dichroic Glass Light Shoot Through Pure Silver Setting Item #: JWA182) e incluye una cadena de 16" pero tuve una grandiosa idea y me enviaron una de 18" o 20". (En.) Since both of these pieces look to me, blue and gold, I decided to layer them and use them together. And ta daaaaa... The final product. /////////// (Es.) Como ambas piezas las ví similares en color, azul y oro, pues decidí ponérmelas juntas. Y he aquí el producto final.

(En.) Two lovely pieces of jewelry for US $128.00 dollars. The beauty is that you can use them separately or together. I just love making different layers of jewelry. It's fun and interesting. I have to always find different ways to wear jewelry because if not...I get bored and stop using them. 

 

These lovely pieces are strange like me. They are really cool and lovely. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY LOOOOOVEEEEE THEM. They are fun to wear and go along great with anything.

 

I love that they are unique. Each one has a different color blend. I JUST LOVE THEM. The jewelry pieces are exquisite. I prefer using them together.

 

They are in my list of the coolest sellers ever.

 

*Their journey

 

They travel in a truck and RV. Charlie drives the truck and is Jaye's best friend.  He is amazing and a genius. He designs their webpage and blog. Charlie is very kind, creative, hard working, honest, funny, and knows how to cook. LOL. I really LOVE them both. They visit different States and find their inspiration on nature and whatever they find along their way. Currently they are working on some new jewelry pieces which I will not tell yet. But so far, I LOVE THE IDEA.

 

So, you see, their pieces have a history and are fun to wear. I love that because it lets me be a part of their gypsy road. Their journey is wonderful. (Es.) En total terminé pagando US $128.00 dólares. La belleza es que las puedes utilizar separadas o en capas. A mi es que me encantan las capas de joyería. Para mi es divertido e interesante lucir la joyería de esta forma tan particular. Si no encuentro la diversión en algo, ya saben que me aburro y hasta otro momento que me vuelva la fragancia las vuelvo a utilizar. 

Estas piezas se ven tan extrañas como yo. Realmente son súper cool y hermosas. ME ENCANTAN UN MONTÓN DE VECES. Son muy divertidas para lucirlas con cualquier tipo de vestimenta. 

 

Me encanta el hecho de que sean únicas y que cada una tenga una mezcla de combinación tan particular.  ESTOY MEGA ENAMORADA. Cada pieza de joyería es exquisita. Y me encanta lucirlas unidas.

 Ellos están en mi lista de gente cool.

 

*Su travesía

 

Ellos viajan en una guagua "pick-up" y en un vehículo recreacional. Charlie es el conductor designado, el mejor amigo de Jaye y una persona estupenda y genial. Él es el que está a cargo de la página y, de hecho, fue el que la diseñó. Charlie es una persona buena, honesta, amable, creativo, inteligente, alegre y sabe cocinar. jajajajajajaja. 

 

Realmente los amo a ambos. Ellos visitan diferentes estados, encuentran inspiración en la naturaleza y en cualquier cosa que encuentren en el camino. En estos momentos se encuentran trabajando en nuevas piezas de joyería que no les adelantaré información. Pero les aseguro que me encanta la idea. AMO LA IDEA. 

 

Como pueden ver, sus piezas tienen historia y son divertidas para lucirlas. Las amo porque me permiten ser parte de una travesía divertida y maravillosa. Realmente espero que visiten la página y adquieran alguna de sus piezas.
